A Wee Tree’s Christmas Miracle is so charming! The familiar story includes Santa and his reindeer flying through the night to bring children presents, however the authors, have created a unique twist in which a small abandoned tree plays the role of the narrator. Santa and his reindeer rescue this tree, decorate it, and send it down the chimney to a family who cannot afford a tree. The message is a beautiful one: that generosity and community are intrinsic yearnings and that everyone can have a role to play in creating holiday spirit, no matter how small. Each page is lushly illustrated with bold and bright colours. The rhyming verse and repetitive structure creates a great read aloud experience. I thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing take on the saturated Night Before Christmas genre. I especially loved how the authors created different characteristics for each of the reindeer!
